Swedish Medical Center Nursing Technician I in Washington
This posting is not a specific job vacancy. This posting serves to establish interested candidates for current or future opportunities for Nursing Technicians at various locations at Swedish Medical Center.
Swedish Medical Center is looking for Full Time Nursing Technicians at our Cherry Hill, First Hill, and Issaquah campuses. This position will be full time during the summer break, and Per Diem during the school year.
This position is open to a current nursing student for the purpose of giving patient care under the direction and supervision of an assigned Registered Nurse.
We will soon be recruiting for our June orientation class.
In this position you will:
Perform patient care appropriate to the educational preparation by the school of nursing and according to Swedish Medical Center standards
Assist patients to achieve an optimal level of functioning and responds appropriately to provide care
Document according to standards on appropriate patient care records
Assist in meeting the educational needs of the patient and significant others
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current enrollment in and satisfactory completion of at least one academic term (quarter or semester) of a nursing program approved by the Washington State Nursing Commission and a nationally accredited nursing program such as Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The academic term must have included a clinical component.
Current Nursing Technician registration. Must agree to maintain registration (including renewals) throughout nursing technician employment at SMC. Registration and employment as a nursing technician is discontinued 30 days after graduation from the approved nursing program, unless a 30-day extension has been granted from the nursing commission.
